3 in 3
Little Cason will be getting his third set of tubes in 3 years tomorrow. His last set has ALREADY started to fall out and his right ear is full of fluid. His doctor is putting a different type of ear tube in this time---they are called Tympanostomy Tubes or T-Tubes. They are supposed to stay in 2-4 years. There are some risks associated with these types of tubes but the doctor feels like the benefits outweigh the risks in Cason's situation. The main risks are that they may not fall out on their own---they may have to be surgically removed. And in a very small % of cases, the tubes leave a hole behind. Most of the time the hole heals on it's own but in a small number of cases they have to go in and surgically repair the hole. Most likely everything will be just fine with these tubes and they will stay in his ears long enough for him to outgrown his ear problems (fingers crossed). We would appreciate your prayers tomorrow for a successful surgery and swift healing for little Cason.
