1 Month Check Up + 1

We had Corbin's one month check up scheduled for this morning and I had to call at the last minute to add Cason on to our appointment. He had been having trouble with his allergies for a day or two and then last night he started his horrible little cough. Every time he has that cough, we end up back on breathing treatments because he has fluid in his lungs. So I decided since we were already going to be there for Corbin, it wouldn't hurt to get him checked out too. And of course his wheezing had started and the doctor put us back on breathing treatments. I can't tell you how much I despise that nebulizer. Every time I get it sterilized and put away, I just have to pull it right back out---LOL. And according to the doctor we are going to have this eye sore on our kitchen counter for the next several months.

He said after his cough gets better, he wants us to continue doing 2 breathing treatments a day as a preventative measure though the winter months----oh boy! I do hope they help him not get pneumonia again. He has such trouble with his lungs, it is VERY likely that he is going to have asthma but it is too early to tell just yet. Please pray that his little lungs get well soon.

Corbin's half of the appointment went great. He got an A+ on his report card from the doctor. He had to get one shot today---poor little guy :(

Corbin had great weight gain---he is now in the 95%. It looks like I'm going to have 2 big boys---and I think they are just adorable!!!

Corbin, you are one month old! What have you been up to this month?

*Your stats from your doctor appointment are as follows...
Weight: 11 pounds, 9 ounces (95%)
Height: 22.3 inches (90%)
Head: 15 inches (50-75%)
*You are wearing 3 month clothing and a size 1 diaper.
*You started smiling on your one month birthday. You don't do it very often just yet but when you do it just melts my heart.
*You are okay with tummy time in 5-10 minute increments.
*You have reflux like your brother did.
*You like to be swaddled when sleeping.
*You like a pacifier to help soothe you to sleep.
*You didn't like your first couple of baths but now you like them just fine :)
*Your eyes are still a dark blue. We could tell Cason's were going to be brown at this point so we are wondering what color eyes you will have.
*Nursing is going great---especially since we got you started on your reflux medicine. You are nursing every 3 hours during the day and every 4-5 hours at night. I asked your doctor when we could stop waking you to eat during the night and he said, "Uh, no". He thinks you are plenty big :)
*You are a happy baby most of the time and you LOVE to cuddle. You definitely prefer sleeping in someone's arms to sleeping in your crib or bassinet (we are working on this).
*You are so sweet---I hold you and love on you all day long :)

1 Month Old!

Corbin is already 1 month old!!! I can't hardly believe it! We haven't been up to much---mostly just hanging around the house. Corbin is a pretty easy baby thank goodness----especially compared to Cason! He does have reflux though like Cason did and they started us on medicine at the end of last week. The medicine takes several days to start working so I'm hoping we start to see an improvement soon.

Cason has been doing a little better the past few days (throwing a couple less tantrums a day). He does get jealous of Corbin and wants my full attention constantly. When I am nursing Corbin----Cason will say, "No, no Corbin. No eat mommy's tummy!". It's hilarious! Even though he gets jealous, he has never been mean to Corbin. He always hugs and kisses him and wants to hold him. I am so glad that he is sweet to him.

I asked Cason's teacher how he was doing at school and she said he is really starting to get the hang of things---like walking in a line with the class, and sitting at the table to eat (instead of a high chair). HOWEVER, she said he does have a "pushing" problem that they are working on. It doesn't surprise me one bit but it does make me sad. I hope gets over this phase quickly. He has really started to enjoy singing lately. He sings his ABC's all the time and now he has also started singing "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" and he sings some parts of "The Itsy Bitsy Spider". I LOVE listening to him sing---it is so precious!

I will do Corbin's one month post on Friday after we go to the doctor's office and get his weight, etc.

For now though, here are some pictures I took today of the boys :)

Cason dancing to a song from Rio...

Cason got jealous when I was taking Corbin's 1 month photos and wanted me to take a picture of him too :)

Cason giving Corbin a high-five ...

Corbin meeting Lily for the first time :)

Corbin's one month photos. I even got his first smiling photos on camera---too bad they weren't the ones of him sitting up but I'll take what I can get---so cute!

No more pictures please!

Peace----LOL

3 Weeks Old

I can't believe Corbin is already 3 1/2 weeks old!!! Time is just flying by and it makes me a little sad. I hope his whole first year doesn't fly by this quickly. I am just LOVING this newborn cuddle stage. He loves to be held and cuddled all the time---I know from experience that this won't last long so I am taking advantage of it every second I can.

Last week was a rough week. I got the stomach flu on Monday. We thought it was food poisoning because  I had eaten some food that had been left out and I hadn't left the house it days so we assumed there was no way I could have been infected with the stomach flu. However, we were wrong because on Wednesday Cason got it too. Thankfully, Scott somehow escaped it. Let me tell you it is not fun to be taking care of a newborn and a busy toddler (who is throwing up) when you feel terrible and you're living on very little sleep. I'm glad that is over.

Here are some pics from the past few days....

Cason Singing

Cason has started singing his ABC's all the time now. We thought he only knew ABCD because he would just sing that and stop (sometimes he would make it to G).  Then all of the sudden one day he just decided he would sing the whole song. I guess he knew it all along and was just holding out on us. He does leave out the letter E though---every single time. I took this video the other day during bath time :)

2 Weeks Old

Corbin is already 2 weeks old! We went to the doctor today for his 2 week check up and everything was great. In fact, this was my first time to take both boys to the doctor by myself and we even got there 12 minutes early---it will probably never happen again!

Babies are supposed to be back to their birth weight (8 pounds, 11 ounces) by their 2 week checkup and I was worried that he wouldn't be because he has been such a sleepy eater but I was wrong. This fat little baby boy was already 9 pounds,  4 ounces. He has gained a little over a pound since our doctors visit last week---yea! The doctor said we could even start going 5 hours at night instead of 4 between feedings if he is not waking up. Now that the doctor told us that, I am certain Corbin will start waking up much earlier than that---ha!

Corbin's stats at 2 weeks:

Weight: 9 pounds, 4 ounces (75-80%)
Height: 21 inches (90%)
Head: 14.3 inches (50-60%)

I took this picture of Corbin with my phone the other day while he was sleeping----he must have been having a great dream :)

Pictures of my boys

Things are very busy around here these days and while Corbin can't run around like Cason, he still needs a lot of my attention as does Cason. Corbin still sleeps most of the day----he eats every 3 hours during the day and then I feed him every 2 hours in the evening to try to get him really full before bed time. He has 2 four hour stretches at night. For some reason, he is always really alert after the last feeding of the night---right when I'm ready to go to bed----LOL. We have to wake him up for almost every feeding still and struggle to keep him awake for a complete feeding. It makes me worry a little that he is not eating enough because he is always falling asleep while he is eating, but I hope that is not the case. We go to the doctor for his 2 week checkup tomorrow so we will know then if he is getting enough. He has been doing really good at night but last night he wanted to have a party from 3:00 a.m to 5:00 a.m.----I'm hoping this doesn't become a habit . He is such a sweet little baby and I can't get enough cuddle time from him :)

Cason is doing better with adjusting to the newest member of the family. He has been really sweet to Corbin and wants to hold him and kiss him all the time. He has just been acting out with tons of temper tantrums to get our attention. I know this is just a phase and hopefully it will pass sooner rather than later. We took him back to school this week and he did great at drop off both days. He walked right in with no hesitations. Tuesday he even took a nap---yea!!!

Here are a few pictures from the last few days....

Also, we got our newborn pictures in and I just LOVE them---Betsy is an amazing photographer!!!

Here are a few and then you can click on the link to see the rest :)
