Catching Up

We had a great time in San Antonio! Unfortunately, I left San Antonio with an unwanted departure gift. I started feeling bad when we got back and by Saturday afternoon, I was at the urgent care clinic getting tested for strep---and sadly it was positive. I have not had strep since I had my tonsils taken out 10 years ago so it was quite the surprise.

The boys actually had step the first week of June. It was Cason's first time to have strep. Corbin had strep once when he was 6 months old. They had been well and feeling great for 3 weeks so the doctors do not think I could have gotten it from them. Most likely, it was just something I picked up in San Antonio. They told me at the clinic that it was definitely possible for me to reinfect the boys so I tried to stay away from them the rest of the weekend. However, by Monday morning we were back in the pediatrician's office and both boys had strep for the second time in June :( Thankfully Scott stayed well throughout all of it.

We are all well now and hopefully we will stay that way!!!

Cason had to miss the first 2 days of Vacation Bible School because of strep, but thankfully he was able to go Wednesday-Friday. He had a great time with his friends!!!

While Cason was a VBS, Corbin and I had fun spending some one on one time together :)

Yesterday we took the boys out for a fun day at the zoo....

San Antonio

Scott had some work to do in Austin this week so the boys and I drove down and picked him up on Tuesday when he was finished. We all headed to San Antonio to spend a few days hanging out.

The resort we were at had 6 pools---the boys had fun playing in the water and riding the golf cart everywhere. Unfortunately, Cason hit his ear on the side of the pool the very first night we were there and it still looks bad 6 days later. It got very swollen and by the second day, his entire ear had turned purple. It didn't keep him from wanting to play and swim though :)

On Wednesday, we went to Sea World and had a great time. There were lots of rides for the kids and lot of animals to see. Next time we go I will just let the kids wear swim suits/water shoes because there are lots of opportunities to get wet.

They even let little Corbin ride this big boat with Cason and Scott....

Corbin was exhausted by the end to he the day at Sea World...

On Thursday, we took the boys to the Riverwalk. We took them on one of the boat tours but they were only interested for about 5-10 minutes and then they were ready to get off--LOL. Poor Corbin had gone 3 days without a nap and going to bed late so he was exhausted and kept laying down on the boat ride.

Thursday night we took the boys to the mall and let them make their first Build a Bear animals before dinner. Cason made a shark that roars like a dinosaur and Corbin made a puppy dog dressed as Batman.

On Friday we headed home and made a stop in Glen Rose at Dinosaur World.

The boys saw lots of dinosaurs, got to dig for fossils, visited the museum, and fed the very hungry Koi fish. It was fun but it was very HOT. Corbin even sat down at one point with his water and refused to walk any further.

Corbin

Sweet Corbin still loves his blue blanket and his two fingers...

This boy loves his peanut butter and jelly sandwiches---he will usually eat 2 at a time...

Corbin and Cason playing the iPads---when Corbin concentrates he sticks his tongue out :)

We moved Corbin into Cason's room at night. They are actually doing pretty good. Cason loves to make as much noise as possible very early in the morning to wake Corbin up---hopefully he will stop doing this soon.

George Strait Concert

The George Strait concert was amazing!!! I have been so excited about it for months and now I am so sad that it's over but I'm so glad that we were able to go! I saw George Strait for the first time when I was around 7 years old---and now SEVERAL years later I was able to see him at his very last concert. There were lots of amazing artists there: Jason Aldean, Vince Gill, Kenny Chesney, Faith Hill, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, Eric Church, Alan Jackson, Sheryl Crow, and he even performed a song with his son Bubba. I thought that each of the artists would perform 2-3 of their own songs and then George Strait would come out at the end and perform alone----BUT they actually had each artist perform 2 of his songs with him and I LOVED that---all George Strait songs all night!!! We had such a good time hanging out with the Harrisons and listening to some great music!!!

Here are some of the pics from our fun evening...

Waiting for the encore performance...

Before the show, we got to go to the VIP tent to eat, listen to music, and look at George Strait memorabilia....

Scott was able to get some good videos with our camera and since lots of people have been asking to see them, I went ahead and uploaded them to youtube for your viewing pleasure.....
