14 Years
Today marks 14 years since our very first date. I was only 16 then and now I am 30! We have been together for almost half of my life. I am so blessed to be married to such an amazing husband and father. Even after 14 years, Scott is still a perfect gentlemen and such a thoughtful husband---I hope Cason grows up to be just like him!

Catching Up....
I feel like I have a lot to catch up on over the past few days. First, here are some pics of Cason in his Christmas pajamas. He looked so cute. I mistakenly gave him his pacifier because it was time for bed and then decided I wanted to take a couple of pictures of him in the pajamas. I also decided that I didn't want the pacifier in the pictures so I tried to take it away for a moment and he was NOT happy in the first picture :). After he got his paci back, he was happy as a clam :)
Sunday Cason had a little bit of a runny nose but no other symptoms that anything was wrong. It was all clear drainage so we weren't very concerned. On Tuesday after he woke up from his nap I noticed drainage coming from his right ear. I called the doc and they told us to come in. He was not feeling great on Tuesday and didn't sleep well on Monday night at all so I was so glad they told us to come in. The drainage from his ear was from an ear infection. That's what happens when you have an ear infection with tubes. It is our first ear infection since the tubes and it has been 6 months. I thought the tubes were miracle workers and we would never have another infection as long as they were in---LOL---I was hoping at least. In addition to his ear infection, he also had a sinus infection, and it had moved into his eyes and was in the beginning stages of pink eye. When she said pink eye---I was not happy. My eyes immediately started itching and I was convinced I had it too---ha! When I was teaching school and a child got lice, my head would always start itching too and I would have the school nurse check my head a million times :) Poor Cason had to get on an antibiotic for his infections, get ear drops for his tubes, and eye drops for his eyes. We have to put the ear and eye drops in three times a day and it is a nightmare. He acts like we are literally trying to kill him. I know it is not painful at all to him but he just gets SO upset. It takes both of us to hold him down! We also got an eye drop prescription for Scott and I just in case we caught pink eye but thankfully we did not! Cason did decide to share his cold with Scott and I though.
On another note, Cason went from liking Elmo to becoming completely obsessed. He literally says his name at least 200 times a day! He wants to watch Elmo, and read books with Elmo in them, and play with Elmo toys all day! I am so tired of hearing Elmo's voice.
We went to Tyler for Thanksgiving and spent time with our sweet families. We have so much to be Thankful for and we just feel so blessed everyday! Here are some pics from our trip to Tyler. (Angie had Kaegan's old Santa suit at her house so we tried it on Cason and it was so stinkin' cute. The pants are a little short but oh well)

Dancing is not his thing...
Cason loves Yo Gabba Gabba on Nick Jr. and he loves to dance when they dance. Scott got a video of him the other day----it is hilarious! He will need to work on his skills before he can dance out in public---LOL.

Never Again
Last weekend our sweet photographer friend came down with the stomach flu and was unable to travel to take photos. So I mistakenly thought it would be a good idea to just set up an appointment at the mall and get a couple of photos for a our Christmas card. I remember thinking to myself---"It can't be that bad". Boy was I WRONG!. We will do without pictures before we ever attempt to go to the mall for photos again---especially with a wild toddler.
First of all, our appointment was at 4:20 and they didn't start talking to us until around 5 or so. You can imagine how much Cason loved sitting in his stroller for that amount of time. The place was SO crowded, you could barely find somewhere to sit.
Then, we got the most ridiculous photographer I have ever seen in my life. He had some of his friends sitting off to the side the entire time waiting for him to get off---He kept talking to them the whole time he was working with us. In addition, he kept calling Cason, Casey (even after we corrected him many times).
Another wonderful part of our session was that these people thought it would be a good idea to put us in the only place that wasn't a room. It was right in front of the store and visible to all the people walking around in the mall. I can't even count how many times Cason ran out into the mall with us frantically running after him.
Cason was in a horrible mood and did not want to take any pictures AT ALL. He was way more interested in all the things going on in the mall---especially the toy store right across from the photo place. I tried to tell the guy that perhaps a room might be better, but clearly he didn't care. We basically had to take turns wrestling Cason to get him to sit still for any pictures and not run out the front door. One of us would hold on to him for dear life and the other one of us would tickle him so he would laugh. Cason had taken both of his shoes off in the first 5 minutes so his shoes are off in most of the photos.
The photographer wanted us to get in the most ridiculous positions and it just wasn't going to happen. All 3 of us were dripping in sweat by the end of the session! People watching us were dying laughing at the scene we were making and I just wanted to cry. I almost stopped the guy mid-session to ask how much it would cost for us to just get to leave!
Then after the 30 minutes of misery, they made us wait about another 30 minutes for them to upload the photos. Thankfully Scott went to get Cason some Chic-fil-a during this time so that he could eat dinner while he was sitting in the stroller. After the photos are uploaded, the photographer sits down with you and you have to look at your photos right then on their computer and decide right then exactly what you want.
Usually, I have a hard time deciding which photos to order because there are so many good ones. This time I had a hard time deciding because there were hardly any good ones. There were a couple of cute ones of Cason and zero good ones of all three of us (just one okay one). I just wanted to get out of there and he kept trying to talk us into different packages and memberships.
Finally, we picked out some photos to order. By this time Cason is finished eating and ready to go. Do we get to leave---NO. You have to sit there and wait for them to print the photos out for you right then. This is a good idea in theory but not when you have a fit throwing toddler with you. We finally got out of there several hours later and we definitely won't be doing that EVER again. It was not one of my better decisions---but you live and you learn. And the lesson is most definitely learned.
The good news is that there were some cute ones of Cason and I always love new pictures of my little cutie! I like the one of him holding the ball---he looks like a real, little football player :) He may seem happy in that picture but don't be fooled, when we had to take the football and the stool away there was quite a scene!

Happy Birthday Cason!
Well 1/2 birthday that is! Cason you are 18 months old! What have you been up to lately?
*You are wearing 24 month or 2T clothing, size 5 diapers, and size 6.5 W shoes.
*You sleep 11-12 hours and night and take one nap in the afternoon. You have been an early bird for a couple of weeks and I'm hoping you go back to sleeping a little later.
*You have become the PICKIEST eater. It is so hard to believe that you used to eat anything and everything and now we just never know what you will be wiling to eat. There have been several occasions where you have skipped a meal altogether. You still LOVE all fruits, most crackers, and yogurt. The only way we can get you to eat your vegetables is to resort to feeding them to you pureed. You have cut several teeth this month and had a cold so I hope we can get back to normal soon.
*You cut your 2 bottom molars the week of October 12th, your bottom right canine on October 24th, your upper left canine on October 27th, and your upper right canine tooth on November 5th. You cut 5 teeth this month and your last baby tooth is about to pop through any day now. Maybe you will have some relief until your 2 year old molars start cutting through.
*You're talking more and more all the time. Your pronunciation isn't always perfect but we know what you are trying to say. Your new favorite word is NO and you say it ALL the time. You still use sign language to communicate as well.
*Mother's Day Out is going great. You haven't cried in weeks. You love your teachers and you are so excited when we get to "school" on Thursday mornings. Your teacher says that you have never thrown even one fit while you are at school. I'm wondering why you save them all for us at home?
*You've started rolling your eyes and you think it is hilarious.
*You love to read books, make animal noises, play peek-a-boo, dance to music, and most of all play outside. We go to the park several times a week.
*You love to cover your eyes and "hide". You think that if you can't see us, then we must not be able to see you as long as your eyes are covered---it is so cute!
*You are very affectionate and I LOVE it. You give several hugs and kisses a day. You especially love to give them right after you have done something wrong so you won't get in trouble. I'm embarrassed to say it does work quite well for you.
*You love to share with us and your stuffed animals. You are always trying to share you pacifier and your milk with all your animal friends.
*You have recently decided that you do like the TV. For months now, you've paid no attention to it and now you are finally starting to like it. If we are at home, you will only watch it for a minute or two at at time---but every time we get into the car you want the TV on. You love Sesame Street and Elmo is your favorite. You call him "Mo Mo".
*We went to the doctor today for your checkup and everything was great! You had lost some weight in the past couple of weeks (with your recent food issues) but you are still holding strong at the top of the charts.
Weight: 30 lbs 4 oz (91%)--about 3 weeks ago you weighed in at 32 1/2 pounds before you got sick. I can't imagine what that percentage would have been--LOL
Height: 35 3/4 in (they measured you twice to be sure) The % was off the charts
Head Circumference: 49.8 cm (94%)

MDO, Tyler, and ATTITUDE
Cason was the "Super Star" at MDO on Thursday for his Gym/Romp class so I thought I would post a pic of his little award. I'm sure they just take turns giving the award to all the little kids in the class---I can't imagine that he was the best behaved--ha!!! I'm also posting a pic of his beautiful stamp art :)
We had a great time visiting with family in Tyler this weekend. Cason loved the zoo. It worked out great because the zoo wasn't crowded at all and he was able to walk around a bunch and not be cooped up in his stroller.
Cason also enjoyed riding the lawn mower with daddy at Mimi and Gunk's house :)

One of Cason's latest tricks is rolling his eyes at us. I do not know how he learned to do this---one day he just did it and we laughed hysterically so now he wants to do it all the time. I know that we encourage this behavior by asking him to do it and then laughing---bad parents---LOL
