23 Months Old

Corbin, you are 23 months old!!! What have you been up to this month???

*You weigh around 26 pounds.
*You are wearing 18 month and 24 month clothing.
*You wear a size 7 shoe and a size 4 diaper.
*Your words right now are: dada, mama, more, ball, night-night, bye-bye, uh-oh, door, dip, no, shoe, dog, nose, mouth, eye, quack-quack, nana (banana), wawa (water), and you try to say I love you (even though I'm probably the only one that can understand it).



*You know the sounds for cat, sheep, cow, pig, duck, owl, rooster, horse, and of course dinosaur! 
*Reading books, playing outside, and following Cason around are your three favorite things to do right now. You will sit still and listen to books for long periods of time (very unlike your brother at this age).
*You also love to play with all forms of transportation (cars, trucks, trains, etc.) and dinosaurs when we are indoors.  
*You still love your blue blanket and you will suck on your first two fingers whenever you have it. We take the blanket with us everywhere---just in case. 
*You love to give sweet kisses and you are such a good sharer. You are want to share your food and toys all time time----it's so sweet!
*You are STILL a daddy's boy and you still have major separation anxiety. Hopefully this will get better after you start MDO in the fall. 
*I can't believe that you will be two in one month!!! These past two years have flown by! You bring SO much joy into our lives and we just love you so much sweet Corbin!

Summer Fun

We had a couple of quick rain showers the other morning but I had already told Cason we were going to visit this splash pool so we loaded up in the car and hoped the weather would be good by the time we got there and thankfully it was. The quick rain showers kept everyone else home and we got to have the splash pool all to ourselves! The deepest it gets is 18 inches so both boys were fine to walk around in it. We had a lot of fun playing---they keep 2 lifeguards on duty and the two lifeguards had to stand out there on duty just to watch us play. Both boys did great----however, if it had been as crowded as it usually is----I don't think it would have gone near as smoothly. I can see why they would need the lifeguards with a packed pool.

Cason finally got to have a playdate with Emma!!! He has been missing her so much since school has been out!

I made this cute Rice Krispie Watermelon snack (found on Pinterest of course) the other day while we were stuck inside because of the rain. It was super easy to make and the boys both liked it. However, because you have to pack it so tightly to get it to stay together---it is a lot harder/firmer than a regular Rice Kripie treat.

My Little Reader

Cason has known his letters and sounds for a while now so when we have some time we work on reading super easy books. He loves to read books together and will happily do it for long periods of time. However, I have to bribe him in order to get him to color, paint, draw, or practice writing his name for more than about 10 seconds.

He is growing up soooooooo fast!!!

Luau for Lily and Lucy :)

Cason and I went to Lucy and Lily's birthday Luau today and we had such a great time! The decorations were SOOOO cute and the food was super yummy! Cason was thrilled to get to swim----he has had back to back ear infections the past two weeks so he hasn't been able to play in the water until today :)

Poor Corbin is sickly so he had to stay home with daddy. He is in love the party favor we brought home for him though! Each boy got to bring home their very own ukulele and they have been playing them for me and singing all afternoon! Happy Birthday Lucy and Lily!
