Park Fun!

After MDO, we joined our friends Madi, Lucy, Erin, and Kathryn at the park for some playtime. I think the  kids had a great time :)

(Yes, poor Cason has a scab on his forehead from a fall at the park earlier this week---he has the worst habit of running too fast and falling forward---it is probably his big tummy that propels him forward--ha!)

Here are a few pics from the park today. Click on the link to view the rest...

Saying "ball" for the millionth time today...

Love birds...

6th Time's a Charm???

Well today was Cason's 6th time to go to Mother's Day Out and he had a great day!!! There were no tears this morning at drop off---he happily went to his teacher. When I picked him up she said that he just had the best day. She said he was as happy as can be all day and actually laid down and took his nap for the whole hour---she had to wake him up! I can't even believe it--I am so proud of him! This was his artwork for the day...

Soccer and playing at the park

We took Cason to the park in Coppell yesterday. They have such a NICE playground and Cason loves it. They also have a great trail for walking/running so we take him for a ride in his wagon sometimes. It is just such a nice park! Scott dressed him for the park and I thought he looked just like a little soccer player with his tall socks on---so cute! I think it is funny because Cason LOVES to kick balls all around the house. I always tell Scott that I think he will be a little soccer player one day. Kathryn even told me about a Soccer Tot league that they have here in Dallas---they start at 18 months old! I can't even imagine how cute a bunch of toddlers would loook running around trying to play soccer---I think he would really enjoy it this spring :)

Here are some pics from our park adventure...

Ready to go and playing in our closet--with the shoes of course...
Playing hide and seek from us--he thinks he has such a good hiding place...
Found you!

The poor ducks thought we had bread for them so they were basically running after us when we walked over to the lake. Then Cason scared them all away---he wanted to catch one so badly--LOL. He RUNS everywhere now. I'm starting to think he forgot how to just walk :)
His artwork from MDO this week. I think it is supposed to be a butterfly :)
They still had to pry him out of my arms but they quickly got him calmed down before I even left by giving him a cookie. He was stomping on bubbles when we got there to pick him up and was as happy as can be. He still didn't take a nap but he did fall asleep on the buggy ride this time.

Peek-a-boo!

His obsession with opening and closing doors continues...
Peek-a-boo!

And this is what happens when he doesn't get his way :)

Happy Birthday Mimi--We Love You!!!

Opening Doors

Cason is getting quite proficient at opening doors. I got a video of him opening the storage closet this afternoon. Please excuse the fussing because I keep shutting the door back. I guess I need to finally child-proof the doors now :)

Hair cut

I took Cason to get his second hair cut yesterday and he did great. He was more squirmy than last time--I had to help hold him a few times but overall he was great. The clippers tickled his neck so much he could hardly stand it--LOL

He went to MDO today and the drop off was terrible again. They had to pry him off of me while he was screaming. However, she said he had a great day and he seemed to be very happy when I picked him up. This was the first time he didn't cry as soon as he saw me---so we are making progress there. She said since he only goes one day a week, it will take him some time to get adjusted to the drop off. He didn't nap again and I'm not sure that he ever will but that is no biggie (except for the fact that his nap mat wasn't cheap so it would be great if he would at least get some use out of it--ha!)

His new words this week are car and bubbles. He has such a country accent when he talks and I'm certain it is all my fault :)

Here is his artwork from today. The teacher said that he wanted to put red dots on everyone's art, not just his own :)

Dora, Diego, and Uggs

We met our friends at My Gym today to see Dora and Diego. I told Scott I thought Cason would be scared of them and Scott thought he would like them---Scott was very wrong. Cason was completely terrified of them. I had to sit there with him while he was screaming. Last year Cason LOVED Santa---I think this year will be a completely different story. He did, however, have a great time playing AFTER Dora and Diego left. I am posting some pics below but you will have to follow the link to my facebook page to see the rest---we took a lot of pics today.

He was making sure Dora and Diego left the gym---after that he was happy :)

Trying to hug Lucy---she was trying to get away---LOL
Cason and Madi sitting in a tree :)

Cason is still in love with trying on our shoes. Today, he wanted to wear my Uggs---so cute :)

16 Months Old

Cason, you are 16 months old! What have you been up to this month?

*You wear 18 month - 2T clothes but most of your 18 months clothes are starting to fit a little too snug.
*Your wear size 5 diapers and size 6 extra wide shoes.
*You weigh a little over 30 pounds.
*You take 2 naps and day and sleep 12 hours at night.
*You are still eating A LOT. However, you are going through a picky stage at the moment--hopefully it will pass soon. One day you will love mac and cheese and the next you won't touch it. The things that you will always eat (no matter what mood you are in) are ANY type of cracker, cheese, any fruit, waffles, deli meat, peas, eggs, yogurt, and applesauce.
*You cut your 2 upper molars the week of August 23rd and your 4th bottom tooth on August 31st.
*Your words of the month are dada (this is your favorite word right now), mama, bye-bye, night-night, ball, door, go, nana (for banana), and uh oh.  You can almost say thank you, water, and cat (your word for cat is dat).
*You use sign language a lot of the time. You consistently use sign language for more, all done, eat, and please. To you, please means "I want" because you sign this and point at whatever it is that you want and get very upset if we don't give it to you. You will sign the word milk occasionally but not consistently---even though this was the very first word I tried to teach you. You are pretty good at signing thank you---it still looks very similar to blowing a kiss though.
*You can point to your head, hair, nose, eyes, mouth, tongue, teeth, ears, knees, belly button, and toes :)
*You finally learned how to shake your head yes instead of always shaking your head no.
*You started Mother's Day Out on August 26th. You go every Thursday. You get very upset when I drop you off but your teacher says that you do great throughout the day. You will not take a nap on your nap mat at MDO, so you and 2 friends ride around in buggies during nap time.
*Your hitting tantrums have decreased greatly--thank goodness. You still have tantrums, just without the hitting, or at least not very often.
*You love giving hugs and kisses to us, your friends, to strangers at My Gym, and to your stuffed animals.
*You are always on the go and you can run very quickly now.
*You can open several of the doors around the house now all on your own.
*You LOVE to jump right now. You will use the trampoline at My Gym and your little horse, Rody, at home. Sometimes you get so excited while jumping, you fall right off!
*You also like to play hide and seek. When we go into your room, you immediately run and hide behind the glider. You peer out from the side and laugh while you wait for me to find you.

Mad Cason

Once second later---Happy Cason
Back to mad again
He wanted me to give him the camera. This is what he did when he didn't get it...
Trying to break free...

Cason and I got to have a lunch date with two of my Lakeside friends and their precious babies on Friday--we had such a great time!!! Matthew and Olivia are soooooo adorable!!!

Tomorrow is Dora and Diego at My Gym---I will definitely get some pictures to post :)
