Look at Me

Look who has started trying to sit up. He looks so precious but it is so sad at the same time because it means he is getting older. I guess this means I can't call him a newborn anymore---LOL. He just started doing this tonight. He has to rest on his hands for support but he can sit there like that for about minute or so before he topples over forward or flings himself back (I took these with my phone and the lighting was horrible)

5 Months Old

Corbin you are 5 months old! What have you been up to this month?

*You are wearing size 3-6 month clothing
*You wear a size 2 diaper
*You still love to "talk" to us and you are giggling more often. We haven't had a full out laugh from you yet but I'm sure it's coming soon.
*You can roll over both ways (when YOU want to). Right after your 4 month birthday you started rolling from your back to your tummy ALL the time. We even had to stop swaddling you because of this and you decided you wanted to be a tummy sleeper--much to my dismay. Every time I would put you on your back to sleep, you would roll right back over to your tummy. This made your mommy very nervous at first but we have been using Lily's Snuza monitor to help with my nerves. You LOVE sleeping on your tummy and the good news is the flat spot on the back of your head is getting much less noticeable. However, in the last week or so you have been on a rolling strike---you have not wanted to roll over at all. I went back and looked at Cason's 5 month post and it said the SAME thing. He went on a rolling strike at 5 months too---LOL. I'm sure you will be rolling all over the place soon.
*Once you started rolling over, we moved you to your crib at night.
*You do not like your rice cereal so far. In fact, very little of the cereal actually makes it into your sweet little tummy. Most of it gets spit out. I have to spoon every bite of cereal into your mouth at least 7 or 8 times because you keep spitting it out. Lots of it ends up on your bib and your face. You definitely won't be getting any food that has color in it until we get this worked out.
*Your reflux has really started to take a turn for the better the past week or two. I'm hoping it stays this way---you have been nursing so much better. Thank goodness for prayers your reflux medicine!!!
*Because you are eating better during the day, you have also started sleeping better at night. I think we are finally about to get back to sleeping through the night AGAIN. You've done it a few times now and it has been great!
*You nurse 6-7 times a day, take 3-4 naps a day, and sleep 12-13 hours at night (with 1-2 feedings during that time).
*You still have pretty blue eyes
*You will take the pacifier if you are sleepy but that's about the only time you want it. You have started sucking on your fingers a LOT lately.
*No teeth yet. I thought you were getting one last month but I was wrong---I am thinking one will come very soon though.
*You are such a HAPPY, HAPPY baby. You smile all the time and you are just SO sweet. The only things that make you upset are if you are hungry, sleepy, or if you are stuck in your car seat. Occasionally you will get upset/scared if someone new is holding you---you have a little bit of stranger danger already.

Your 5 month photo shoot was the most challenging one so far. You either wanted to lean all the way forward (to play with your feet) and fall over or lean all the way back and lay flat on your back. It was quite the struggle to get a few pictures of you sitting up.

32 Months Old

Cason, you are already 32 months old!!!! What have you been up to lately?

*You weigh around 40 pounds
*You wear some 3T clothing but you mostly wear size 4T in clothes
*You wear a size 6 diaper
*Year wear a size 9 W or XW shoes
*Your favorite foods are (a.k.a. the only foods you will eat) fish sticks, chicken nuggets, cheese taquitos, spaghetti and meatballs minus the spaghetti, toast, waffles, blueberry muffins, cereal, pepperoni pizza, pancakes, any and all fruit, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, corn, peas, Chick-fil-a, chips, lasagna, applesauce, yogurt, and milk is your drink of choice.
*Your favorite things to watch on T.V. are animated movies, Thomas the Train, and Elmo.
*Some common things you say right now are....
---Mmmmm that is tasty
---My (I) don't have to _____. For example, "My don't have to take a bath."
---Mommy and Daddy will keep me safe
---I will do it by myself
---No, not yet (this is your answer to a lot of questions). For example, when I ask you if your diaper is dirty, you smile and say, "No, not yet".
---Eaging for eating and rainging for raining
---_____wants to see me again
---You say mommy a hundred times a day and most of the time you don't even need anything. You just like to say it.
---You say dark and hot in a very English accent----so cute!
*You LOVE playing outside on your new swingset
*You love Thomas the Train right now and your train table is definitely a favorite!
*You like to read books about animals and trains
*You love animals right now and you ask to go to the zoo almost daily.
*You have really started singing more songs lately. The alphabet is still your favorite song to sing.
*You love your brother and you always want to hug and kiss him.
*You are using your potty a LOT now. You will happily go whenever I ask (probably because you get an M&M). You do not tell me when you need to go yet, I always have to ask. You will NOT go number 2 in the potty even with lots of bribery involved.
*You take one nap a day and sleep 11-12 hours a night. You are my little early bird.
*You know all the basic colors and shapes, you know all the letters of the alphabet and the sounds they make, you can count to 15, and you can spell your name :)
*You do great at school. Your teacher says you are a big flirt and you love to dance. Your daddy isn't so sure about the dancing part.
*You can be quite the little helper when you want to be. Your mommy really loves that!
*You are very talkative, loving, happy, energetic, affectionate, and sweet. We love you SO much!!!

Cason and I went on a frozen yogurt date last week just the two of us :)

They CAN smile at the same time :)

Here are some pictures of my precious little boys. I even got several where they were both smiling at the same time!!!

Corbin LOVES sticking out his tongue!

C is for Cason---Cason was practicing making the letter C on his chalkboard outside :)

First Dentist Appointment

Cason had his first dentist appointment last week and he did GREAT! They cleaned his teeth and took some (not all) x-rays. He has all of his teeth (he's had them for a while now) and they could see his permanent behind his baby teeth in the x-rays. There was a tv to watch on the ceiling while they were cleaning his teeth and that definitely helped keep him happy. He also got stickers and a prize from their prize chest. It went much better than I expected. In fact, I had to DRAG him out of there because there were all kinds of fun toys in their waiting room that he wanted to stay and play with.

Rice Cereal

The doctor told us we could start rice cereal at Corbin's 4 month appointment. With Cason, we started it that day he turned 4 months old and I was so good about giving it to him every day. With poor Corbin, we tried it several days after his 4 month birthday and we have only done it 3 times---LOL! I need to get better about this.

Here is Corbin with his rice cereal for the first time. He ate it (sort of) but he didn't love it.

Cason LOVED his rice cereal from the very first time we gave it to him. He screamed when we didn't give it to him fast enough---LOL

My boys :)

We were able to get out for a couple of fun family outings the past few days. Cason has been asking NON-STOP to go to the zoo lately so we finally got up and took him last Sunday morning. The weather was great and the zoo was empty---it could not have been more perfect. We had a great time---Cason even got to feed the giraffes! We didn't take the camera though so I have no pictures to add.

Then, today we took the boys to the aquarium. It was neat but I think the zoo is a much better deal. The tickets for the aquarium were pricey, it was VERY crowded, and there wasn't near as much to see. Cason still loved it though. He and Scott kept calling it the fish zoo. We took a couple of pictures but it is hard to get pictures with two kiddos in a crowded, tight space. Here is a picture of Scott and Cason watching a dancer that was there....

The aquarium is on Corbin Street. I wish we could have this street sign!

We have one for Cason...
