Waffles and Walking

This morning I gave Cason a frozen Eggo Waffle to chew on and he LOVED it. I guess it tasted good and felt good on his gums. I tried to take it away to cook it and boy he got MAD. So I just let him chew on it cold.  It seems like the last several pictures I've taken of him are in his high chair---I guess that is because it is the only place I can get him to sit still for very long--ha!

Walking update:
He has been able to take 5 or 6 steps in a row for a month and a half now. But he only does it if he is walking to one of us AND if we have a toy that he wants. At first, I kept thinking that he was going to start walking around any day but a month and a half later, I'm not so sure.

However, the past couple of days, he hast started getting much more interested in trying to walk. Now he will walk back and forth to different objects (like the chair to his exersaucer) all by himself.  He doesn't go far (just a few steps), but this is the first time that he has started walking to something other than us. Today I was behind him and I watched him let go of his exersaucer and walk at least 3 feet before he fell down. He was trying to make it to the coffee table. So I'm thinking it might be sooner rather than later but we'll see. I keep trying to get it on video but he never does it when I want him to.  When I can tell he is about to try, I always get to my camera too late---mostly because it is really hard to get your camera out and ready to go when you are trying to keep your baby from falling head first into some piece of furniture. Hopefully I will get a video soon though.

Testing mom and dad...

Cason's favorite things right now are opening/closing doors and cabinets, chasing Autumn, and throwing any and everything on the floor. He wants to drop toys, pacifiers, food, drinks, etc. He knows he is not supposed to throw his food/drink on the ground when he is in his hight chair. He understands the word no and always looks at us before he does something he is not supposed to do just to see what our reaction is going to be. It is hilarious!!! He will take his food and hold his hand out over the high chair and look at us like I'm about to drop this and what are you going to do??!!! He is so funny. We will tell him no and 95% of the time he won't drop it. When we tell him no, sometimes he gets mad and just puts the food in is mouth while whining and other times he just gets a mischievous grin on his face and puts the food back on the tray. I tried to get a good picture of his sneaky little smile but was unsuccessful. He does this ALL the time now and we just think it is too funny!

Here are some pictures from dinner and bath time last night. Yes there is food all over him but it is just easier to clean him up at the very end than throughout the entire meal. Last night he had gerber meat sticks (looks gross but he likes them), string cheese, and pureed broccoli/zucchini. And then after that he chewed on a frozen banana piece in his mesh feeder---what a mess!!! He definitely needed a bath.

Getting tired during dinner...

Holding a piece of cheese in his hand about to drop it on the floor but waiting on our response....

Testing us again with his sippy cup....

10 Months Old

I can't believe Cason is already 10 months old! Cason what have you been up to this month?

--You weigh 24.2 pounds
--You wear size 4 diapers and 12-18 month clothes
--You are waving (when you want to)
--You are still taking steps (and getting better) but you are not a walker yet
--You have said mama several times but only when you want to and it is not directed towards me
--You are becoming much more vocal
--You can crawl very fast, which is why you choose this as your mode of transportation
--You love to show us "arms up" and "arms down"
--You still put anything and everything in your mouth
--You love to splash water everywhere when you are taking your bath
--You have milk only 4 times a day now
--You take 2 naps and sleep 11-12 hours at night
--You don't like to sit still for even a minute (especially for clothing and diaper changes)
--You are such a joy to be with everyday!!!

Month 1

 Month 10

Other things you've up to this past week are:

-You got your first stomach bug and decided to share it with your mommy and daddy. Thank goodness your Mimi came up to Dallas to help!
-You finished nursing. Your mommy was SOOOOO sad for it to end but very happy that she did it for 10 months. ---You still don't love bottles and formula but you're getting better.
-Because of this new change, your mommy's monthly friend has come back for a visit for the first time in 19 months!
-You went to the Cheesecake Factory for lunch with your girlfriends today and got to ride on a carousel for the very first time :)

These are the only St. Patrick's Day photos we could get of Cason because he did not want to sit still. His little shirt says "I'm a McCutie". Exactly 10 years ago, I was spending St. Patrick's Day in beautiful Ireland marching in the parade with my wonderful Kilgore College Rangerette line. I sure miss those girls!!!

Here is a little photo I edited of Cason--I love black and white photos with a little color :)

The Turners

Wendie and Cade came to visit us yesterday and spent the night. Cason and I had so much fun with them! Girl time is definitely different when you have two baby boys with you--you can't quite do all the shopping you want when you have hungry, sleepy boys on your hands---ha!

The boys aren't very good at sharing toys just yet and we thought it was hilarious! We got a video of them fighting over a ball. We didn't even get the best part of the fight on video because we were laughing so hard and we had to get the camera out--but it is still a funny video.

Thanks for coming to see us and we hope you come back soon!

Shiner and talking

The other day Cason got his first little shiner. He bumped his head on the windowsill and boy was he mad. That night it was swollen but we put some ice on it and by morning it wasn't bad at all. I took these pictures the next morning so it is hard to tell.

Up to this point, Cason has not been overly vocal. He will babble here and there but overall he was more interested in moving and crawling. Just in the past couple of weeks, he has decided he would really start being more vocal. I LOVE hearing his sweet voice. He has definitely babbled things that sound very similar to dadada & mamamama but he doesn't just say mama or dada alone and I'm sure when he does it will take me forever to actually catch it on video. He does recognize several words like ball, book, wave,  clap, cat, etc. and I'm sure before we know it he will be saying them too :)

Gymboree

We took the kiddos to Gymboree for play group this week. Your first session is free so we thought it would be fun to try it out. They had such a good time so I think we are going to try some other kid gyms in the area too. You can try all of them for free once, so they better get ready...ha!

My little chunk :)

Here are a few recent pictures of Cason. He looks like a little chunk in some of the pictures---so cute! The weather has been nice a couple of times so I took him to the park to swing and he liked it.
