36 Weeks

I had my 36 week appointment today and Scott and Cason went with me. I had a sonogram first to check Corbin's size and she thinks he is weighing around 6 pounds 10 ounces as of right now. If he gains 1/2 pound a week, he will weigh around 8 pounds / 2 ounces at 39 weeks (which is when we will induce). So he looks like he will weigh just about the same as Cason (8 pounds, 1 ounce). Although an 8 pound baby is big, it is not near as big as a 9 pound baby so I hope the sono tech knows what she is talking about. Corbin's heart rate was 140 and everything looked great. She said that he is measuring just about a week ahead of schedule.

Then we saw my doctor. I am still dilated to a 2 and I am 80% effaced. I am glad that I did not dilate any more from last week! Due to my doctor's schedule we will not be able to induce until Friday, August 26th. At least now we know for sure that it will be on or before the 26th (not before the 17th though as that is the day I am getting my roots done).

The pregnancy symptoms seem to be raging all of the sudden! Just the past couple of days, I have been having swelling/tingling/numbness in my hands. It has been driving me crazy so I asked my doctor about it today and she said it is pregnancy induced carpal tunnel syndrome. She said it is very common at the end of a pregnancy and that it should go away after the baby is born. This is all new to me as I did not have this with Cason. Then, after we left her office today, my feet started swelling like crazy. This is getting ridiculous! It is just TOO hot outside. I blame it all on the Texas heat!

It is all worth it because I have a healthy little baby boy growing inside of me that I love with all my heart. I am so thankful that this has been a healthy pregnancy and that our little baby is growing beautifully. We are a very blessed little family---God is good!!!

My 36 week picture and a couple of Cason because he wanted to have his picture taken this morning as well (with his favorite boots).
