24 Months and 24 Weeks

Cason, you are 24 months old! What have you been up to this month?

*We went to your 2 year check-up and got all your stats. Their computer system was down so we didn't get a print out of your percentages---they were just able to give me a range for now and we can get the print out at our next visit. You weigh 34 pounds, 8 ounces (falls above the 97%), they had to measure your height twice (wiggle worm) and they went with the smaller measurement which was 36.75 inches (falls around the 96%), your head circumference was large as usual 51cm (around the 95%).
*The doctor said you look GREAT and you seemed VERY active. He said this is typical of most boys and that you were definitely one we would have to keep a VERY close eye on to make sure we minimize the accidents. He said some boys have no fear and you are definitely one of them. He said it was fine that your weight was so high because you are also very tall for your age and that balances it out. He did tell us that we could go ahead and move to 2% milk though---ha!

*You are wearing size 2T and size 3T clothing---it really depends on the brand. This is the first month that we have started moving into some 3T clothing.
*You wear a size 5 diaper and size 7 or 7.5 wide shoes. We still can't buy you regular width shoes---your cute little feet are too fat :)
*You take one nap a day and sleep 11-12 hours at night. You always wake up sometime between 6:30 and 7:30 no matter what time you go to bed.
*You are still Mr. Picky when it comes to food. One day you might love something and the next you won't touch it. We never know what you are going to eat that day. You always love your milk, fruit, crackers, yogurt, chicken nuggets and fish sticks. Some new things that you have really liked to eat this month are corn, meatballs (no pasta), and pizza.
*You are getting really good with your utensils. I can just hand you a cup of yogurt, applesauce, and even a bowl of cereal and you are good to eat it all by yourself. Of course it is not mess free, but you do a really great job.
*You are talking more and more everyday. You are saying small sentences and you are becoming quite the little copycat. Mommy and Daddy really have to watch what we say. Some cute things you have said lately are....

---The other day in the grocery store, your daddy had to go to a different aisle and you kept saying very loudly, "Daddy, where are you?" over and over until you saw him again.
---When you want to go outside you say, "Mommy, shoes on, play outside". If I say, "Oh, do you want to go outside?", you will smile big and say, "Okay".
---You say okay a lot and you use your cuteness to your advantage. The other day you saw some cookies on the counter and you said, "Mommy bite cookie (pause for cuteness) okay". Like I was asking you if you wanted a bite of the cookie and you so nicely agreed.
---The other day you were pointing at my stomach and I replied with "yes, mommy is fat". You waited about an hour and then out of the blue you started saying, "Mommy fat" over and over and over!
---If some asks you how old you are, you will tell them two.
---You scraped your knee over a month ago and you still constantly say, "Boo Boo" and want someone to kiss it even though you can't even see the scrape anymore.
---Your favorite thing to say is still, "I love you". You say it a hundred times a day and it never gets old.
---You still do not say your name correctly but you do refer to yourself as "Ca". You just won't say the last 3 letters of your name. You will say, "Ca shoes on", or "Ca pet cat", etc.

*You know some of your colors. You are best at identifying blue, green, and pink. You can count to 10 with assistance (not independently yet). You can identify several letters of the alphabet in print. You do the best with letters A-L.
*You LOVE to be outside, You would stay outside all day if I would let you. It is even to the point if I want to say the word outside and your in the same room, I have to spell it.
*Your current obsessions are sunglasses, shoes, buckles, and of course Elmo (Melmo)
*Your mommy left you overnight for the very first time this past month. We went on a trip for your daddy's work and had to leave the country so we couldn't even use our phones to call you. Thank goodness for Skype. You and your Lolli had a great time and your mommy and daddy missed you very much.
*I can't believe you are already 2 years old. These past two years have flown by and we have enjoyed every second. We love our sweet, handsome little boy!!!

I officially turned 24 weeks on Sunday. We forgot to take a 20 week picture so there is a big difference between the last picture and this one. Baby boy is doing great and moving tons! I love this part of pregnancy when you can feel and see the baby moving around. I go in for my next doctor's visit next week and then 2 weeks after that we will get a sonogram. I am excited to see precious baby boy again. I sure wish he had a name but we are still undecided.

If you are thinking any of these things as you look at my 24 week picture---don't feel bad, I am thinking them too...

--Wow, she is huge.
--How is she ever going to make it to her due date of September 4th?
--She looks like she is about to pop.

To make matters worse, we took the picture at the end of the day----my make-up is non-existent and my hair is pitiful---LOL

My due date is September 4th but my doctor will induce at 39 weeks---which is August 29th. So from now on I am saying this baby is coming on or before August 29th because August sounds better than September---ha!
