It's a Girl!

I had a sonogram scheduled last week to check for the gender of the baby. I went by myself to the appointment and I had them write down the gender in a sealed envelope. She was very careful during the sonogram to not show me anything that would give away any clues. She had me turn my head and close my eyes when she was checking for the gender. She recorded the baby's heartbeat (146) for us to put in a stuffed animal.

I immediately dropped off the gender envelope at the bakery where I had already placed a cupcake order the week before and they were ready within 30 minutes. After Cason got home from school and Corbin woke up from his nap, we were all excited to find out the gender.

It should be noted that Cason has wanted a sister for a very long time...

Cason made that picture at school when he was in the 2 year old class at Prestonwood (2011-2012). He told his teacher that he had a sister---he has been asking for a sister since around that time.

The cupcakes...

The inside...

I can't believe the icing was PINK!!! Scott and I both were pretty sure it would be blue. We opened up several cupcakes just to be sure they were all pink and found the sealed envelope I gave to the bakery to make sure she had written GIRL inside. I have another sonogram the last week of May so I will be more convinced that it is a girl after the doctor confirms it one more time :)

We are all very excited to add a precious little girl to our family. I wish I had some pictures of the boys with their cupcakes but we had our camera set up on a tripod to video them (plus we were too distracted by the pink to even remember to use our iPhones) so we don't have any pictures of them finding out but we do have it all on video  :)

Here is our stuffed animal with her heartbeat inside. Cason loves listening to it...
