Favorite Spaghetti Sauce

When we moved into our house, sweet Erin and Carl brought over some spaghetti and meatballs so we didn't have to cook that night. We LOVED the recipe so she passed it along to me and I have made it on numerous occasions since then because all my boys love spaghetti and meatballs.  The recipe is from the Food Network and I wanted to share it with you today. The only things I do differently from the original recipe are omit the green bell pepper because Cason will just sit there and pick it out the whole time and add in a bag of frozen meatballs. We love the meatballs mixed in with the sauce----we are meat lovers at this house! Enjoy :)

My version:

Alice Jo's Spaghetti Sauce (Paula Deen)

Ingredients:

1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 large onion, chopped

1 clove garlic, chopped

2 (6-ounce) cans tomato paste

1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce

1 (14 1/2-ounce) can stewed tomatoes

1 tablespoon Italian seasoning

1 tablespoon
Worcestershire sauce

2 tablespoons sugar

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup water
1 bag of frozen meatballs
Directions:

Brown the beef in a large, heavy bottomed pot, then drain off the fat. Add the onion and garlic and saute until the onion is tender, about 5 minutes. Add the tomato paste, tomato sauce, stewed tomatoes, seasonings, frozen meatballs, and water. Simmer for 30 minutes. Let cool. The sauce will keep for several days covered and refrigerated. Serve with spaghetti or your favorite pasta.
